MUSICAL NOTE COOKIES/ Piano Envy

Was there something you really, really wanted as a kid? For me, there were three things. One was an inground swimming pool .... isn't that on everyone's list? Another was to wear glasses because I thought they were cool. These days, I can’t go anywhere without my specs! The other, to play the piano but my parents could not afford the lessons or the piano. Those black and ivory keys looked like fun to play and I love the sound of a piano. My husband has a keyboard so it is definitely on my to do list. During this stay home phase of life, it may be a good time to pick up that instruction book. As I look back on it, maybe I was lucky because classmates who had to practice piano everyday after school complained a lot. Maybe those kids were jealous of their pals who could run out and play after school without a thought to piano practice?

These cookies are made with the musical note cutter and an easy cookie to decorate. Since the shape is simple yet distinctive, I added a flourish to complement the cookie.

  1. Pretty, as always, Joan! I, too, wanted piano lessons as a kid, but my parents couldn't afford them, either. I'm so envious of people who can play!
