GENDER REVEAL COOKIES/ Boy or Girl?

‘Gender Reveal’  is a relatively new term and it pertains to the new tradition of parties which have gained in popularity in recent years. The days of waiting until the baby’s birth to know the gender went out with the last century. Instead of relaying news the old-fashioned way ... like talking, the gender of the baby yet to be born is often conveyed in cupcakes and cookies. One bite will reveal pink or blue. What a tasty idea and a great reason to throw a party!

I recently filled an order for gender reveal cookies for a baby boy. Some cookie artisans dye a section of dough blue or pink. I tried a different method where the color is revealed in the icing. This was my first attempt and I’m ready for my next order. Come see the process.

  5. Oh my gosh Joan, these are perfect! So fun looking and a unique way for a gender reveal! When my daughter was pregnant she asked us to go to the ultrasound- I had 2 cakes ready to go ( the cake batter was tinted) to hand her since her husband couldn't come so they had it dessert that night and found out they were having a girl... next time around maybe should attempt these :) Or hire you!!

  6. Just precious Joan! I love the idea of coloring the icing instead of the dough. Very clever. And, how do you always take the most beautiful photos? The lighting and colors are always spot on. I'm so impressed! :-)

    1. Colleen, Thank you! It makes for lots of icing on the cookie but that's a good thing, right! I was delighted to read your compliment about my photography. I spend lots of time of my photos and struggle with composition and photo editing. I have a lot to learn. Thanks again; you made my day!

    1. Brooks, I had an idea about how I wanted to decorate these cookies but I did not have a clear image of the final design. I think the piped trim was the perfect dainty detail that pulled the design together. Thanks for stopping by.
