In the spring when it rained, this was a common expression during my childhood. I rarely hear anyone say it these days. Back then when I was in elementary school, I thought how cute…. it rhymes. Honestly, I was not concerned with spring flowers but wanted April to end, so May could come, then June and the last day of school and summer would not be far behind.
Well, it’s May and the flowers in the garden have come back to life. The pansies planted in September, which seemed to die over winter, are now full and brightly-colored. The hydrangea has lots of leaves and the blooms are just waiting to make their grand entrance. The dusty millers which are sold as annuals are now entering their third season.
So, what says spring more than a daisy? Here’s my first cookie of spring! There will be more spring-themed cookies in future posts. Stay tuned!Daisy Cookies
