HEART COOKIES/ Box of Chocolates

This post is the first in a series of Valentine-themed cookies. I made lots of pink icing so pink will be the prevalent color for a few posts. Forest Gump said “Life is a box of chocolates and you never know what you’re going to get. Of course, Forest was referring to the unpredictable experiences of life. Let’s keep this discussion simple and talk cookies! This cookie replicates a shiny, pink, heart-shaped box of Valentine chocolates. I know Valentine chocolates are usually packaged in red boxes but I prefer pink. Go with me on this. I hope your sweetheart brings you chocolates, flowers and romance on Valentine’s Day. In the meantime, bake these cookies and drop a hint to your sweetie that Valentine’s Day is near and a shiny, red, heart-shaped box filled with chocolates would be just fine! Along the same theme, I also decorated double-heart cookies with romantic sayings to replicate the little message candy prevalent this time of year.
